GREGORY R. CHOPPIN MEMORIAL MURAL

research, design, fabrication & installation arrangements

I designed an infographic mural in honor of chemist and physicist Gregory R. Choppin. Choppin was a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans and is co-discoverer of chemical element 101, mendelevium. The mural celebrates his life and legacy by including striking visual diagrams of his research and testimonies to his identity as an innovator and mentor. It was a semester long commissioned research project under Design Department advisor and head, Daniela Marx, and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The mural is professionally printed on four layers of plexiglass and installed at the entrance of Loyola's newly renovated Monroe Hall.
