INTENTIONS, THE CONSTRUCTED IMAGE

"Art does not happen in a vacuum: there is purpose, design, and intention.

It is impossible, completely and absolutely, to duplicate an artistic experience." -Intentions Collective prompt

I was responsible for branding an exhibition for my photography class at Loyola University's Danna Center Gallery. The class collaboratively decided on a theme, "Intentions: The Constructed Image", and I designed branding material including a logo, screen printed posters, and postcards.

The photo series I exhibited is entitled Blurred subject. Blurred environment. Frozen movement. It was largely inspired by two quotes from children's literature: "a part of the world and a world of its own all surrounded by the bright blue sea"–The Little Island ; "As small as a world and as large as alone"– E.E. Cummings.

This photo series represents an introspective period of processing following the passing of a dear friend.

I also showed a photo diptych, Beast with Two Backs (above) and Romeo and Juliet (below).
